Where can your points draw a tag?

Enter your preference or bonus points and this free planner sorts 3,980 hunts in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming into three lists: likely this year, build points, and long shots. Each hunt shows the agency's own numbers from its latest published draw (2026 for Colorado and Wyoming, 2025 for Utah, whose 2026 results were not posted when this was built): first-choice applicants, how many drew at your point level, the level it was drawn out at, and the year before for the trend.

These are last year's results, not a forecast. Nothing here promises a tag or an animal.

How many hunts could you draw with your points?

The number of hunts where, in each state's latest draw, every first-choice applicant at that point level drew or at least half did. Adult applicants, private-land-only hunts left out. Utah rows are its 2025 draw.

Wyoming rows are the nonresident regular preference point drawing; Wyoming residents draw these species at random with no points. Moose is left out of this table where the state uses a random draw among top point holders. Left out because no hunt reached half at these levels: Utah moose (nonresidents), Utah bighorn sheep (residents), Utah bighorn sheep (nonresidents), Utah mountain goat (residents), Utah mountain goat (nonresidents), Utah bison (residents), Utah bison (nonresidents).

How the three lists are made

Questions hunters ask

Are these draw odds for 2027?

No. Every number is from the agencies' published results of their latest draws (2026 for Colorado and Wyoming, 2025 for Utah, whose 2026 results were not posted when this was built), with the year beside it. Point creep, quota changes and more applicants can move a hunt from one list to another. The planner shows you last year's facts so you can choose with them.

How does the planner decide what is likely this year?

A hunt goes in Likely this year when, in the latest published draw, every first-choice applicant with your points drew, or at least half of them did. It goes in Build points when nobody at your level drew but applicants with more points did, and in Long shot when some, but fewer than half, drew at your level. That is the whole rule, and the numbers behind it are shown on every hunt.

What is the difference between preference and bonus points?

With preference points, applicants with the most points draw first (Colorado, and Wyoming's nonresident point pools). With bonus points, more points give you more chances in a random draw, and some states hold part of the permits for the top point holders (Utah). Each state page explains its own rule in the agency's terms.

What if a state does not publish results by point level?

The planner says so for that state and shows what the agency does publish, such as licenses and applicants per hunt. Wyoming's random drawings, for example, print the quota and the applicants but not how many drew, so those numbers are shown as they are.

Does it cost anything?

No. The planner is free. When you draw, FilledTag can build the plan for that tag: where to park, camp and hunt inside your unit, checked against public land and road rules.
