What is Belgium WMA like?
This unit contains a diversity of habitat types including grassland, emergent marsh, and timber. These scattered habitats support a diversity of wildlife - resident prairie grouse, migratory prairie birds, waterfowl, furbearers, and deer.
There is a parking lot on the north end. There is also parking and a ridge trail on the south end. Bring knee or hip boots for exploring near the marshes. Opportunities in the fall include hunting for deer and waterfowl, as well as trapping. Good marsh viewing is available from the north road. Black terns are present. Berry picking is available with grapes, choke-cherry, and thorn apples present.
