Unit 80 covers about 887 square miles in Alamosa, Conejos, Mineral and Rio Grande counties.

In 2024, an estimated 633 deer hunters hunted Game Management Unit 80 across all seasons and took 304 deer, a success rate of 48%. The statewide rate that year was 43%.

That is 29 more hunters than 2023, when success was 46%.

3rd rifle was the busiest rifle season, with 199 hunters, about 22 for every 100 square miles of the unit.
