Unit 60 covers about 238 square miles in Mesa and Montrose counties.

In 2024, an estimated 564 elk hunters hunted Game Management Unit 60 across all seasons and took 140 elk, a success rate of 25%. The statewide rate that year was 20%.

That is 103 more hunters than 2023, when success was 15%.

2nd rifle was the busiest rifle season, with 139 hunters, about 58 for every 100 square miles of the unit.

4th rifle had the highest rifle success at 28%.
