What is Suconnix WMA like?

This larger size WMA has a diverse mix of hardwood forest, wetland, and upland grasslands. This area historically was likely a mixture of burr oak dominated forest and prairie grasslands. Some of the larger open water wetlands grow wild rice.

Future management will include reforestation of the oak hardwood community. This WMA is home to a diverse number of wildlife species because of its various habitat components and large size. This is a good area to watch for spring migrants.
