From SCDNR's property page: "The S.C. Department of Natural Resources manages Santee Delta Wildlife Management Area (WMA) to provide quality habitat for wintering waterfowl and other wetland wildlife including wood storks, wading birds, ospreys, and bald eagles. The WMA consists of Santee Delta East which is predominately impounded remnant rice fields and Santee Delta West which is impounded bottomland hardwood forest. The area also provides habitat for upland game and nongame species and provides recreational opportunities for the hunting and non-hunting public. Public hunting on the WMA includes waterfowl, white-tailed deer, and feral hog."
Closures for hunts: The impoundments are closed from November 1st through February 8th annually due to hunting related activities.
Visiting hours: This property is completely closed during waterfowl season. This property is open during daylight hours outside of waterfowl season.
