Unit 16 covers about 320 square miles in Jackson County.

In 2024, an estimated 153 deer hunters hunted Game Management Unit 16 across all seasons and took 22 deer, a success rate of 14%. The statewide rate that year was 43%.

That is 13 more hunters than 2023, when success was 19%.

2nd rifle was the busiest rifle season, with 72 hunters, about 23 for every 100 square miles of the unit.
