Unit 22 covers about 989 square miles in Rio Blanco and Garfield counties.

In 2024, an estimated 494 deer hunters hunted Game Management Unit 22 across all seasons and took 293 deer, a success rate of 59%. The statewide rate that year was 43%.

That is 15 more hunters than 2023, when success was 67%.

3rd rifle was the busiest rifle season, with 203 hunters, about 21 for every 100 square miles of the unit.
