Unit 43 covers about 526 square miles in Garfield, Pitkin, Eagle and Gunnison counties.

In 2024, an estimated 632 deer hunters hunted Game Management Unit 43 across all seasons and took 278 deer, a success rate of 44%. The statewide rate that year was 43%.

That is 61 fewer hunters than 2023, when success was 40%.
