Colorado GMU 75 deer hunting: 2024 harvest and hunter numbers

Unit 75 covers about 646 square miles in La Plata County and San Juan County counties.

In 2024, an estimated 1,131 deer hunters hunted Game Management Unit 75 across all seasons and took 617 deer, a success rate of 55%. The statewide rate that year was 43%.

That is 213 more hunters than 2023, when success was 50%.

2nd rifle was the busiest rifle season, with 326 hunters, about 50 for every 100 square miles of the unit.

4th rifle had the highest rifle success at 70%.

Among the 138 units with at least 100 rifle deer hunters, unit 75 ranked 35 for rifle success and 110 for fewest rifle hunters per square mile.
