Colorado GMU 77 deer hunting: 2024 harvest and hunter numbers

Unit 77 covers about 557 square miles in Archuleta, Hinsdale, La Plata and Mineral counties.

In 2024, an estimated 1,356 deer hunters hunted Game Management Unit 77 across all seasons and took 612 deer, a success rate of 45%. The statewide rate that year was 43%.

That is 346 more hunters than 2023, when success was 40%.

2nd rifle was the busiest rifle season, with 620 hunters, about 111 for every 100 square miles of the unit.
