Unit 8 covers about 420 square miles in Larimer County.

In 2024, an estimated 1,335 deer hunters hunted Game Management Unit 8 across all seasons and took 241 deer, a success rate of 18%. The statewide rate that year was 43%.

That is 117 more hunters than 2023, when success was 17%.

2nd rifle was the busiest rifle season, with 284 hunters, about 68 for every 100 square miles of the unit.

4th rifle had the highest rifle success at 33%.
