Unit 63 covers about 369 square miles in Delta, Gunnison and Montrose counties.

In 2024, an estimated 1,480 elk hunters hunted Game Management Unit 63 across all seasons and took 292 elk, a success rate of 20%. The statewide rate that year was 20%.

That is 22 fewer hunters than 2023, when success was 17%.

2nd rifle was the busiest rifle season, with 304 hunters, about 82 for every 100 square miles of the unit.

3rd rifle had the highest rifle success at 25%.
