MassWildlife describes it: "Mashpee Pine Barrens WMA is 203 acres of pitch pine scrub oak wood and shrubland within a greater complex of conservation land in association with Wampanoag Tribal Land and U.S. Fish and Wildlife property. The property has expanded in acreage by MassWildlife over multiple land purchases during the years of 1986, 1995, and 2002. The property is currently being managed through forest cutting and prescribed fire."
