Unit 30 covers about 869 square miles in Garfield and Mesa counties.
In 2024, an estimated 218 deer hunters hunted Game Management Unit 30 across all seasons and took 129 deer, a success rate of 59%. The statewide rate that year was 43%.
That is 29 fewer hunters than 2023, when success was 55%.
2nd rifle was the busiest rifle season, with 89 hunters, about 10 for every 100 square miles of the unit.
3rd rifle had the highest rifle success at 82%.
Among the 138 units with at least 100 rifle deer hunters, unit 30 ranked 12 for rifle success and 11 for fewest rifle hunters per square mile.
