Colorado GMU 36 deer hunting: 2024 harvest and hunter numbers

Unit 36 covers about 275 square miles in Eagle and Grand counties.

In 2024, an estimated 900 deer hunters hunted Game Management Unit 36 across all seasons and took 302 deer, a success rate of 34%. The statewide rate that year was 43%.

That is 113 more hunters than 2023, when success was 35%.

2nd rifle was the busiest rifle season, with 416 hunters, about 151 for every 100 square miles of the unit.

3rd rifle had the highest rifle success at 39%.

Among the 138 units with at least 100 rifle deer hunters, unit 36 ranked 111 for rifle success and 130 for fewest rifle hunters per square mile.
