Unit 3 covers about 849 square miles in Moffat County.

In 2024, an estimated 1,038 elk hunters hunted Game Management Unit 3 across all seasons and took 162 elk, a success rate of 16%. The statewide rate that year was 20%.

That is 591 fewer hunters than 2023, when success was 9%.
