Unit 3 covers about 849 square miles in Moffat County.
In 2024, an estimated 867 deer hunters hunted Game Management Unit 3 across all seasons and took 486 deer, a success rate of 56%. The statewide rate that year was 43%.
That is 114 fewer hunters than 2023, when success was 39%.
3rd rifle was the busiest rifle season, with 411 hunters, about 48 for every 100 square miles of the unit.
4th rifle had the highest rifle success at 64%.
