Unit 5 covers about 299 square miles in Moffat and Routt counties.
In 2024, an estimated 275 deer hunters hunted Game Management Unit 5 across all seasons and took 129 deer, a success rate of 47%. The statewide rate that year was 43%.
That is 62 more hunters than 2023, when success was 38%.
2nd rifle was the busiest rifle season, with 58 hunters, about 19 for every 100 square miles of the unit.
