Unit 57 covers about 273 square miles in Chaffee, Park and Fremont counties.

In 2024, an estimated 483 elk hunters hunted Game Management Unit 57 across all seasons and took 163 elk, a success rate of 34%. The statewide rate that year was 20%.

That is 101 fewer hunters than 2023, when success was 31%.

3rd rifle was the busiest rifle season, with 102 hunters, about 37 for every 100 square miles of the unit.
