Unit 15 covers about 492 square miles in Routt, Grand and Eagle counties.
In 2024, an estimated 1,460 deer hunters hunted Game Management Unit 15 across all seasons and took 502 deer, a success rate of 34%. The statewide rate that year was 43%.
That is 260 more hunters than 2023, when success was 33%.
2nd rifle was the busiest rifle season, with 725 hunters, about 147 for every 100 square miles of the unit.
4th rifle had the highest rifle success at 62%.
Among the 138 units with at least 100 rifle deer hunters, unit 15 ranked 102 for rifle success and 128 for fewest rifle hunters per square mile.
