Colorado GMU 26 deer hunting: 2024 harvest and hunter numbers

Unit 26 covers about 240 square miles in Eagle, Garfield and Routt counties.

In 2024, an estimated 979 deer hunters hunted Game Management Unit 26 across all seasons and took 353 deer, a success rate of 36%. The statewide rate that year was 43%.

That is 477 more hunters than 2023, when success was 38%.

2nd rifle was the busiest rifle season, with 474 hunters, about 198 for every 100 square miles of the unit.

3rd rifle had the highest rifle success at 49%.
