Unit 231 covers about 178 square miles in Routt, Rio Blanco and Garfield counties.

In 2024, an estimated 143 deer hunters hunted Game Management Unit 231 across all seasons and took 22 deer, a success rate of 15%. The statewide rate that year was 43%.

That is 19 more hunters than 2023, when success was 18%.
