Unit 39 covers about 369 square miles in Jefferson, Clear Creek and Park counties.
In 2024, an estimated 528 deer hunters hunted Game Management Unit 39 across all seasons and took 147 deer, a success rate of 28%. The statewide rate that year was 43%.
That is 108 fewer hunters than 2023, when success was 26%.
2nd rifle was the busiest rifle season, with 99 hunters, about 27 for every 100 square miles of the unit.
4th rifle had the highest rifle success at 46%.
