Colorado GMU 50 elk hunting: 2024 harvest and hunter numbers

Unit 50 covers about 500 square miles in Park County.

In 2024, an estimated 850 elk hunters hunted Game Management Unit 50 across all seasons and took 273 elk, a success rate of 32%. The statewide rate that year was 20%.

That is 195 more hunters than 2023, when success was 29%.

2nd rifle was the busiest rifle season, with 236 hunters, about 47 for every 100 square miles of the unit.

4th rifle had the highest rifle success at 58%.
