Unit 29 covers about 441 square miles in Boulder, Jefferson and Gilpin counties.

In 2024, an estimated 829 deer hunters hunted Game Management Unit 29 across all seasons and took 191 deer, a success rate of 23%. The statewide rate that year was 43%.

That is 89 fewer hunters than 2023, when success was 27%.

2nd rifle was the busiest rifle season, with 187 hunters, about 42 for every 100 square miles of the unit.

Among the 138 units with at least 100 rifle deer hunters, unit 29 ranked 132 for rifle success and 116 for fewest rifle hunters per square mile.
