In CPW's 2026 primary elk draw, 46 elk hunt codes drew out at 2 preference points for residents, 1,755 licenses in all, and 39 drew out at 2 preference points for nonresidents. A resident who listed one of them first with 2 points drew it in the 9 codes where every 2-point applicant drew, and some did in the rest. Residents with fewer points drew 841 other codes outright or at lower levels.
