In CPW's 2026 primary elk draw, 21 elk hunt codes drew out at 5 preference points for residents, 692 licenses in all, and 7 drew out at 5 preference points for nonresidents. A resident who listed one of them first with 5 points drew it in the 5 codes where every 5-point applicant drew, and some did in the rest. Residents with fewer points drew 933 other codes outright or at lower levels.
